Class Discussions and Reviews
The room was filled with a mix of anticipation and anxiety as we presented our narratives and game concept. As we delved into the stories we had carefully crafted, we realised that the initial spark we felt was dimmed by the weight of our shortcomings. The faculty and peers provided constructive feedback that highlighted the lack of depth in our stories, the inconsistency in the narrative flow, and the need for a more cohesive and immersive experience.
The critiques hit us hard, and for a moment, our spirits were shattered. We had poured our hearts into this project, believing that our approach was foolproof. However, the feedback exposed the cracks in our foundation. It was a humbling realisation that, despite our enthusiasm and efforts, we had missed a crucial aspect of storytelling — the ability to weave a narrative that resonated on multiple levels. We believed that the true essence of Mazagaon could only be captured through personal experience. The initial narratives lacked depth because they were born out of research and imagination alone. We knew we needed to immerse ourselves in the heart of Mazagaon to truly understand its spirit, stories, and people. Our decision to revisit the site and engage with the community was a turning point in our journey.
